NEEDLES TO MOAB
Magpie Adventures has a great Itinerary starting with a
ride and a hike in The Needles District of Canyonlands
National Park, followed by riding mountain bikes all the
way back into Moab!
We start this trip with a shuttle from Moab early on the first
day. Along the way we’ll stop to view a petroglyph
panel called Newspaper Rock, and then it’s on to the
Needles where we’ll get on our bikes and ride to a
trailhead for a short hike to view the confluence of the
Green and Colorado Rivers. After a delicious lunch we’ll
ride through a wonderland of striped sandstone features
and open meadows on our way to camp among ancient
footpaths and Anasazi ruins. The next three days follow
the incredible Lockhart Basin Route traveling north
parallel to the Colorado River. Maggie excels at
identifying the plant life, and making sure mike breathes
while talking about the Geology!
